We are excited to announce the election of Angela Fleming Brown as Vice-Chair of the Generate Health Board of Directors.  As Vice Chair, Angela will succeed the Chair of the Board in January 2023.   Angela Fleming Brown, MPH serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Saint Louis Regional Health Commission.  She is a graduate of Saint Louis University’s School of Public Health and the St. Louis Business Diversity Initiative’s Fellows Program and serves as Co-Chair of the St. Louis Region System of Care, as a Community Advisory Board member for St. Louis ReCast, and as a Steering Committee member for the St. Louis Chapter of National Association of Health Services Executives. In 2013, Angela received the “Stellar Performer of Healthcare” Award from the St. Louis American Foundation.  Angela joined the Generate Health Board of Directors in 2018 and we are grateful for her exceptional volunteer leadership.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”4124″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]Akella Wicker, Board Member

Akella Wicker serves as the Director of Human Resources for the Central States Management Area at Charter Communications. In this role, she supports over 1,000 Field Operations employees in Missouri and Illinois and leads a team of seven human resources professionals. Akella has more than 20 years of human resources experiences in both the public and private sectors. Akella enjoys traveling, volunteering, and serving on the boards of a variety of organizations in the St. Louis area, all of which are dedicated to empowering and inspiring women including the Professional Organization of Women, and Zeta Charitable Foundation of St. Louis, Inc.  She has been a member of Generate Health’s HR Committee for 5 years.

Pryor, MD, FACOG, Board Member

Carolyn J. Pryor, M.D., FACOG, Medical Director, SSM Health – St. Louis Maternal Services, Medical Director, SSM Health DePaul and St. Joseph St. Charles OB Care Centers, Medical Director, SSM Health – St. Louis OB Hospitalist/Laborist Program. Dr. Pryor has practiced obstetrics and gynecology in North St. Louis County since 1993. In 2014, she merged her practice with SSM Health. In her many roles, Dr. Pryor is responsible directing the in-house OB coverage service and assuring that quality, safety, and appropriateness of patient care provided in the SSM Health Maternal Services are monitored and evaluated. She is also responsible for The OB Care Center, a full-service prenatal care facility located on the campus of SSM Health DePaul Hospital and SSM Health St. Joseph St. Charles Hospital. Their multi-disciplinary team include obstetricians, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, and social workers. One of their innovative community partnerships is with Operation Food Search. Fresh Rx – Nourishing Healthy Starts is a program that address a critical social determinant of health: access to fresh local food for pregnant women with low income.

Dr. Pryor joined the Board of Generate Health to align with an organization whose mission is to improve maternal and infant health in the St. Louis region. This collaboration will help to advance the work that she has done throughout her entire career and provide support for Generate Health to reach the goal of improving birth outcomes, promoting healthy families, and building healthy communities by uniting and mobilizing the St. Louis region.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”4125″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]Shawn Dryden, Board Member

Shawn Dryden is a health care leader with demonstrated success in strategy, business development, and operations.  Shawn currently serves as the Vice President of Ambulatory Services for SSM Health’s maternal fetal medicine program and Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital outpatient services.  Shawn joined SSM Health in 2011 after working in a variety of health care leadership positions for Sacred Heart Hospital in Wisconsin and BJC Healthcare Missouri Baptist Medical Center.  Shawn is a past board member of Ronald McDonald House Charities and Life Link Air Ambulance.
